5 Reasons to Move to Battle Ground, WA

November 14, 2018

If you work in Vancouver and are looking for a new place to live, you likely want to stay in Washington. Yes, we have sales tax here, but we don’t have an income tax and, most importantly, your commute to work will be much better if you stay on the north side of the Columbia River. While there are a number of great options to choose from, today we’re going to suggest Battle Ground, WA as a top choice. This underrated gem will provide you with a commute you’ll be happy with, good schools (if that’s important), and easy access to the outdoors. So, here’s a deeper look into five reasons you should move to Battle Ground, WA. 5 Reasons to Move to Battle Ground, WA 1. Delectable Bites at an Affordable Price You will find good eats all around the state of Washington, but in Battle Ground, we have a laid-back version of life. We’re looking for a good meal at a place we can pop into after a 40-mile bike ride and celebrate a birthday, and our town has got us covered. Certainly, Mill Creek Pub is a favorite. This 9th Avenue staple has been serving mouth-watering American dishes that have earned the owners a Best in Business award for five consecutive years. If you’re looking for something local, fresh, and flavorful, this is definitely your pick. Another top choice is Barrel Mountain Brewing. This brewery, which also serves up delicious food, is among our top selections. The owners are also committed to local and fresh ingredients, and offer a fun “Hoppy Hour” during the week—drinks start low at 2 p.m. and go up every hour until reaching full price at 6 p.m. With these two, and so many more great places to choose from, you’ll enjoy the rounds at our restaurants if you move to Battle Ground, WA. 2. Close Proximity to Wineries There are many wineries in our area, but some are even located in Battle Ground, WA itself. Smaller established Heisen House Vineyards is truly a dream come true to the owners. The wines are created on a small scale and handcrafted, and hard cider is an option as well. If you’re looking to expand your palate or just try something new, the wines here are low-sulfate, vegan, and some are even unfiltered. Want to know what that means? Stop by as you browse your potential new homes community in Battle Ground. Attend the annual crush festival or visit any Saturday or Sunday, 12 p.m.-6 p.m. 3. Lovely Parks You’re now in Battle Ground, WA so of course, you want to explore nature, but that can clearly mean different things to different people. If you just want to dip your toes in—kids in tow—among our favorite parks in Battle Ground is Lewisville Regional Park. While the three-mile loop is a top choice if you are looking for a beautiful place to take a stroll, the park also has ball courts, play areas, and you can even get married here, with the bubbling river in the background. While many parks get crowded—and this one is no exception—you will also find it’s clean, including the restrooms. This, however, is a service you pay for as you need $3 to park. Or, find a spot by the entrance for free. If you move to Battle Ground, you’ll have plenty of time to explore all 159-acres. We would be remiss if we didn’t also mention the namesake park—Battle Ground Lake State Park. This is a favorite lake to fish and camp at all year long. You could also take a paddleboard or kayak (no motor boats) onto the lake in the summer, or just go for a swim. At a larger 275-acres, you will also find a place to picnic, hike, or bike. Pick up a Discover Pass for $10 per day or $30 per year. You know which one we recommend. 4. More Adventure People drive hours to visit Battle Ground, WA just for the day as it has epic, story-worthy places to camp, kayak, bike, and more. Whether you want to dig into a sport you already love, pick up a new hobby, or just try something new in our great outdoors, you can choose few places better than Battle Ground. Our Proud Homeowners

Welcome to the family!

New Tradition Homes is proud to be a local family owned business since 1987, and are grateful for the opportunity to serve families in our community. We are happy to welcome these new homeowners into the NT family!

I don't remember the first time I saw a New Tradition home, but it was MANY years ago. During the internet evolution, I have watched New Tradition evolve into a great company. I don't know why, I guess it was my dream to own one I just didn't know it yet. Years later, my husband and I decided it was time to build. After looking at all the builders and communities we stopped into a New Tradition home and he fell in love! (I was already there). 4 months later the floor plan of our dreams came available and we were hooked. 1 year later, we are now in our New Tradition home and I couldn't be happier!
